Personal debt, made clear

Write it down.Feel lighter.

A simple browser-only tool to record personal debts, name a witness, and plan who can access the record when you are no longer here to speak for yourself.

No login needed to try it. Your demo stays in this browser.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The soul of the believer is suspended by his debt until it is paid off.”

— Ibn Mājah

01

Keep people separate

Each debt belongs to one person. Record it clearly so the obligation stays unambiguous.

02

Record dates and context

When was the debt made? Why? These details matter for fair and honest settlement.

03

Include a witness

Islamic tradition recommends a witness for significant obligations. Debt Guardian keeps one on record.

04

Work toward zero

Clearing debts is an act of integrity. Track what is owed and mark it paid as you settle.

Every detail, in one place.

Add a personal debt, amount, reason, and witness. The demo runs entirely in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere.

A record that respects real life.

Debt Guardian is built around the simple reality of personal loans between people who know each other — not bank accounts or formal credit systems.

01

Record the debt

Add the person you owe or who owes you, the amount, and the reason. Keep it honest and complete.

02

Include a witness

Name the person who was present when the debt was agreed. Their initials stay on record.

03

Plan for access

Assign up to five trusted people who may request access after your death. A death certificate submitted to the admin team begins the process.

Make the record reachable, even when you cannot be.

Assign up to five people — with their name, phone number, and email — who can request access to your debt records after death. One assigned person may submit a death certificate to the Debt Guardian admin team to initiate the access approval process.

Clear it. Always.

In Islamic tradition, a debt unpaid at death is carried into the next world. Recording it is the first step to clearing it.

One record. Clear names.

Each entry belongs to one person, one amount, one witness. No confusion, no assumptions, no disputed memory.

Name who can access it.

Your record can outlive you — intentionally. Assign up to five people and let one send a death certificate to begin the access process.

Do I need an account to start?

No. You can record debts in the browser demo without any login. A login is only needed if you choose to save your debt history across sessions.

Where is my debt data stored?

For now, debt data saves only on the same device where you use Debt Guardian. Nothing is sent to a server unless you have an account.

How does Legacy Access work?

You can assign up to five trusted people with their name, phone number, and email. After your death, one assigned person may submit a death certificate to the Debt Guardian admin team to request access. The admin team reviews and approves access.

Is this in line with Islamic guidance?

The site reflects the Islamic importance of clearing debts and managing them responsibly. We encourage users to use this record as a tool for honouring obligations and making a clear plan for those who survive them.
